Chromecast Built-In for audio
The following certifications are required when integrating Chromecast built-in for audio into a product:
- Self certification for general playback features
- Multi-room certification at SoundCertificate
Self certification may be out-sourced to SoundCertificate.
Multi-room certification steps:
- Apply for a certification run ahead of time
- A test run is scheduled
- Provide samples to SoundCertificate on time
- Feedback is provided within one week
If any issues occurred, a re-test needs to be scheduled.
An entire product family can be certified at once, without the need to certify each individual product. A family is defined as having the same SoC with identical SW running Chromecast built-in and having identical SW upgrade procedures. Within a family, devices that have different host controllers or different sound paths (DSPs, etc.) will also need to pass partial certification.
